World Environment Day was celebrated today at Government Girls College, Kalawali, Sirsa. On this occasion, June 5 was celebrated as World Environment Day in association with Professor Ram Lal Baljot, in-charge of Environment Club. On this occasion, Professor Ram Lal Baljot, in-charge of Environment Club, administered oath to all the staff members for the protection of the environment. Sapling was planted by Professor Jaspal Singh, Head of Punjabi Department. Professor Ram Lal Baljot told that World Environment Day is being celebrated in 143 countries. Every person takes 3 cylinders of oxygen from the environment per day equal to the cost of Rs 2100. On this day, a pledge should be taken to make water, air and land pollution-free so that future generations can get pure water for drinking and pure air for breathing. On this occasion N. S. S. A quiz competition was organized by in-charge Sushma Devi. Staff members including Professor Jitendra, Head of Department of Economics were present.
